Rebecca has been a vocal instructor for over 20 years She embraces all styles of music, including jazz, classical, blues, pop/rock, R&B, gospel, folk, country, and musical theater, while providing expert instruction in healthful technique, development of individual style, repertoire, improvisation, theory and ear training. She also presents masterclasses and clinics on performance, improvisation, and vocal health & wellness.
She has worked with students of all ages and levels, from young singers to college students and professional musicians, including instrumentalists who are learning to sing and experienced vocalists who are branching out into new genres.
Rebecca has extensive training and performance as both a classical mezzo soprano and a jazz vocalist, with an undergraduate degree in classical voice and a master's degree in jazz studies from New England Conservatory, Boston. She has also studied Estill Voice Training (vocal technique and anatomy) under Mary McDonald Klimek and Clare McLeod, earning a Certificate of Figure Proficiency.
She is currently Associate Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music, Boston. She has also taught at New England Conservatory Preparatory, Longy School of Music, MIT, and privately. Rebecca also served as Artist Ambassador for the Fundación ArmonÃa Colectiva, supporting the artistry and careers of young, gifted jazz vocalists from Costa Rica through distance learning and mentoring.
